The four Goals the Prairie Arts Council hopes to achieve will increase the visibility and availability of the arts to all in our community:

  • Increase and promote educational opportunities in the arts

  • Publish and distribute a quarterly newsletter

  • Maintain the Prairie Arts Center as a public facility

  • Produce a comprehensive arts calendar

The guiding purpose of the Prairie Arts Council is to strengthen and support the participation in the cultural arts in North Central Illinois and the surrounding area. These cultural arts include drama, music, art and literature and the Arts Council was formed to support, promote and develop these arts for all to enjoy.
The Prairie Arts Center is conveniently located at 24 Park Avenue East adjacent to the Soldiers and Sailors Park.  The facility has a performance hall seating of up to 240 and two rooms available for classes, meeting, activities, recitals/performances and available for private rental.
